Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy is an evidence-based practice that incorporates horses into the therapeutic process. The horses are equally important to the work as therapist and client. Well-known for their empathic nature, working with horses fosters healing and an enhanced sense of wellbeing. Clients have the opportunity to explore their presenting issues in a safe, non-judgmental environment through their relational interactions with horses.
EFP at Patchwork Grove is primarily done on the ground and is not a riding-based modality. If you seek therapeutic riding or riding lessons, we would gladly provide you with local resources.

Patchwork Grove Counseling & Wellness offers individual and group sessions to clients aged 6 to adult. The duration of treatment will be designed to best suit your needs. Whether you seek long-term therapy or a single session to relieve stress, Patchwork Grove would be more than happy to assist you. We offer EFP and nature-based sessions, as well as telehealth.

EFP can be utilized as a stand-alone therapy or as a supplement to established treatment. If you seek services as supplemental treatment, it is encouraged that you discuss this with your current provider so that both therapists can collaborate on your treatment and progress.
Does Patchwork Grove accept insurance?
Does Patchwork Grove accept insurance?
Patchwork Grove is currently contracted with Aetna, Blue Cross, United Commercial and Community plans, Ambetter, Healthy Blue, and LA Healthcare Connections, We also accept private pay and offer a sliding scale for those in need. Patchwork Grove can also provide you with a superbill to submit for reimbursement for out-of-network insurance companies. Please check with your insurance company for details on this process.
